High and low ac pressures are the same

Post by Saturn »

My 06 Saturn Vue isn't blowing cold air. The pressure reads the same with the high being about 5 psi higher depending on the amount of refrigerant that I put in/take out. My clutch is engaging. The air is blowing out of the dash greatly it's just not cold. I replaced my expansion valve and have no more leaks anywhere. It seems as though the only symptoms showing are the pressures being the same and no cold air. I've looked at the condenser and evaporator and they both look free from obstruction. I'm not sure where to look next. I guess it could still be the compressor that has the issue internally.

A completely dead scroll compressor.

A new condenser and compressor & receiver / drier will clear that right up.

The condenser is the primary filter in the system, it is holding most of the trash from the scroll making metal on metal contact inside the compressor. The smaller bits are in the receiver.
