my ac has stopped working in my honda civic. it stopped around 9 pm 2 nights ago. the next morning the ac works fine. all day works fine. around 9 pm last night it stops again. i looked at the clutch on the compressor and it is not spinning when it is not working. this morning it is working fine again. i have no idea why this is happening and mechanics i spoke with are stumped as well. the ac seems to be working in the day time and at night it will stop. any help or feedback would be appreciated.

You say it works "All Day" Does this mean that when you drive it for several short trips in the daytime it always cools? Or is this car used like a delivery vehicle running almost constantly?

When it stops working at night, does this coincide with an action like using the headlights?

What is the ambient temperature where you are operating the vehicle?
