Engine Size: 2.8
Refrigerant Type: R-134A
Ambient Temp: 70
Pressure Low: 50
Pressure High: 180
Country of Origin: United States
Only getting 6 deg temp drop from ambient out of the ducts. Noted that the high pressure valve is leaking when I remove the cap, but cap appear to seal when on. These do not have schraeder type valves, so I don't know that I can replace the valve (whole line is NLA) or just leave it.
Is it possible to have 50psi low side pressure and be underfilled?

Typical; the cap is the real seal.Elise111 wrote:Noted that the high pressure valve is leaking when I remove the cap, but cap appear to seal when on.
Pressures need to be measured after a couple minutes running at about 1800 rpm. Is that how you measured the posted pressures?Elise111 wrote:Is it possible to have 50psi low side pressure and be underfilled? Only getting 6 deg temp drop from ambient out of the ducts

Thanks for the response. The pressures were at engine idle. I will have a chance to remeasure next week and report.
Re: SD7V16 1214 pressures
I've checked pressures with the engine warmed up and holding 1500-1800 rpm for about a minute. I'm reading 35psi and 175psi at 68 deg ambient.
Re: SD7V16 1214 pressures
175 psi high pressure seems low, even for that ambient temp. I'd add 6oz. additional R134a, and see how that goes.
