Hello all, new here and looks like a good place to get answers. I have a 2006 f250 6.0 that the ac is giving me fits. When I bought truck it blew hot air on max ac. I checked the pressures and with it on max ac and idling the low side was about 55 and the high side was 300. Thought it was a bit high so I vacuumed it down and started recharging it. It holds 2 lbs 8 oz. I started refilling and noticed the pressures were going up quickly. I got 2 lbs 5 oz in and pressure on low side was 60 and high side was 425. Wow, I stopped. Figured it had a plugged orfice tube so I vaccumed back down and replaced orfice tube. Old tube had a little junk on it, nothing major. Charged again, got 2lbs in it and pressure was low 60 high 370. It was 90 degrees out and there was no cool air blowing out vents either time. So I'm stumped, what next. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks a ton for reading this and have a great day.
Ps: I forgot to mention, when you shut ac off and motor off, the high side rapidly drops under 200 and the low side goes all the way up to about 150.

Mist the condenser with a water hose. If the high side drops like a rock, you have condenser, air low over the condenser problems. Whaen the high side goes down so will the low side. An area to check is the cooling fan.

Ditto above-- air flow across condenser is your issue...

I cleaned the condenser, radiator and put a new fan clutch on the truck. I can feel airflow thru the condenser and the pressures dropped. The condenser was warm to the touch. I finished charging it to the weight specified and the pressure on low was 43 and high was 280 and it was 85 outside. It still didn't blow cold. I let it run a bit while I sat in the cab and I heard the compressor start to kick off then back on. I got out and looked at the gauges and the high side was almost 500. So here I am again, what should I be looking at now?

What happens when you mist the condenser with a water hose?

It drops the high side to 150 and the low side to 30 and kicks the compressor off. The air out of the vents is somewhat cool but not cold.

Start looking at the condenser, cooling fan(s), and shields. your system is not rejecting the heat from the condenser.

Got it fixed!! Condenser was partially plugged up and the blend door motor was bad. Now it blows cold!! Thank you to everyone who pointed me in the right direction on this one!!
