price to recover R134a and related questions

If I take my car to a shop with one of those fancy Sun machines for AC service, how much should I expect to pay to have the R134a recovered?
Will the machine be able to tell how much got pulled out?
When I recharge the system, will I have to add any oil?
I am planning to do some hose alterations. Will I have to replace my used-for-1000 miles receiver/dryer?
Thanks!

Typically about $100.
Yes the machine will tell how much was pulled out.
You will not need to add any oil.
Yes, whenever the system is opened the R/D should be replaced.
Try to find a MACS certified shop, they are better trained.

Some shops will do it for free. But you don't get the refrigerant back unless you return for the recharge. Then there are the recharge fees.
