I bought this kit 20 years ago for finding oil leaks. It came with an AC leak detection setup that includes a special coupling hose, syringe and these instructions.
Are there any things I should worry about if I decide to use this?

I have used the UV dye system in the past, but have considered it to be cumbersome.
Have now used a sniffer for many years with very easy and good results.
The choice is yours

Many vehicle manufactures these days add UV dye at time of manufacture. Myself, I add UV dye if a system doesn't have it.
On my last compressor install (2018, on my 2004 Frontier, R134a) I also installed new condenser and drier, and backflushed the high pressure line after its compressor seized at about 100K miles, and I added PAG oil that already contained UV dye.
