05 Avalon AC trouble

Can someone please tell me what is the cause of poor AC performance on a 2005 Toyota Avalon.
When the outside temp is above 80 degrees the AC vent temp is 80 + degrees on a 93 degree day.
But when the outside temp is under 80 degrees, the AC vent air temp. goes down to 53-54 degrees?
The AC Freon charge, lo & hi sides seem to be ok.
For some reason the AC work’s sufficiently only on cooler days/nights.
I read it could possibly be the outside temp. sensor that gives an AC signal?
My dash digital outside temp. reading is accurate, is that reading for the same temp. sensor.
I looked for the temp. sensor on the front by the hood latch & in front of the AC condenser and did not find it.
Can you please help me locate the outside AC temp. sensor.
Thanks!
