Ac stopped working a while back, prematurely changed compressor but it didn’t fix problem as the clutch wouldn’t even engage. Fast forward now did some troubleshooting and found compressor works good when I jump pins at low pressure connector. Air blows cold. Thought this meant bad low pressure switch so went to buy new one, installed and now I have an intermittent compressor it’ll turn off and on. Was hoping maybe they gave me a defective sensor so went to buy a separate one different store but same result. Jumped pins at connector again to double check and yep engaged compressor and blows cold air. Filled up with Freon just in case the charge was low, I’m pretty stumped because jumping the pins and it working usually is a guarantee that sensor is bad. Maybe I should replace accumulator? I’ve changed the compressor twice now and never changed accumulator I know this is really dumb of me but yea.

It seems to me that you probably don't have the correct charge (weight) of refrigerant in the system. The refrigerant most likely leaked out from the compressor shaft seal over the years, and that might have been all that was wrong with it the first time.

Suggest starting with a recovery, thorough evacuation, and recharge to the exact amount of refrigerant called for by the manufacturer.

The accumulator was not changed after either of the compressor replacements, but it should be replaced each time the system is opened to the atmosphere.

The compressor should cycle on and off depending on the heat load, a proper charge, and other factors.

The specs that I have for your Jeep are as follows: 22 ounces net weight of R-134a, and 8.0 fluid ounces of PAG-46.

Did you pull and inspect the Orifice Tube while you had the system open?
