This car project is over four years old and I can see light at the end of the tunnel. It's time to custom make my AC lines! I've never done it but most of the work that I've done on this project car is stuff that I've never done before so I'm not scared.

I'm going to have to make two custom lines. Accumulator to compressor and compressor to condenser.

The OEM installed compressor was originally on the driver's side of the engine but is now on the passenger side of my LS3 engine. Here is link to a picture:

This UAC accumulator has the suction outlet pointed directly to the front of the car. Perfect. The suction outlet is a barbed fitting; 5/8". I have an OEM style suction hose. I've cut it and it measures 5/8" ID. I also know the threads on the suction inlet of the compressor.

The other line is the compressor outlet to the condenser. I don't have an OEM one of these so I don't know what size hose I'm going to need. I know the threads on the compressor fitting and I know I need a springlock fitting at the condenser but I'm hoping that someone can tell me what size ID hose I should be using for this line.

I just tried to open up the two pictures I have in the post above and they don't seem to work. Maybe someone can tell me what I need to do to upload a picture. Thanks!

Danny, The file size of your photos is probably too big. Use a photo compression app and compress them to 500 KB or less and they should post just fine.

Thank you, Tim. I edited my original post and it looks like the links to my two pictures are now working.

I'm planning on using reduced barrier hose. To crimp the hose onto the5/8" barbed fitting of the accumulator, I think I'm going to need one of these at the end of the hose:

swapping an LS3 into a Mustang is understandable, especially if you have a true LS3 aluminum block and not a truck engine iron block, but Coyote swapping is getting more popular and you could keep it all blue oval.

There are aftermarket suppliers of complete custom hose assemblies, I don't think Tim at AC kits does it, but I could be wrong? You can specify the first end fitting, the length, service or switch ports, the last end fitting, and order online, cheaper than you can fool around with doing it yourself.

You can also buy an LS3 swap ac compressor fitting, that will adapt the compressor to "standard" aftermarket tube-O fittings, then you can fit up your custome hoses. Search Google for LS3 swap ac compressor fittings. LS3 compressor is sometimes a V7 variable, easiest path to use them is to use an accumulator/orifice tube and not a TXV. Which compressor do you have?

Yikes!! I don't want to be there when it is started up.

Tim, can you explain what you mean by "your eBay supplier?" What eBay supplier? I tried to post a link to a picture of my LS3 engine showing my OEM Ford compressor mounted on the passenger side of the engine. My other link is to a picture of my UAC accumulator that I've had in my possession for at least a year. I'm holding it in my hand.
