The problem I'm having is that the gauge end fittings, on the high and low pressure hoses, will not screw onto the gauge. The refrigerant hose is fine. It will screw onto all three locations on the manifold, so there's no problem on the manifold end. The fittings on the high and low pressure hoses must be off in some way. I've measured them and they all appear to be 17 mm wide, and the threads look identical. I really can't see why the high and low pressure fittings won't screw on, but they don't. Am I missing something here? I'm looking at replacement hoses on Amazon and they all say "1/4" SAE Flare Thread." Maybe I've got a manufacturing defect on my hands.

Some fittings are 1/4", some are 5/16"

Sounds like the supplier sent the wrong hoses. The ends that connect to the gauges should be 1/2- inch ACME and not 1/4-inch SAE Flare.
By the way, the air vacuum pump pictured won't pull a sufficient vacuum for a thorough evacuation.

Thanks guys. I'll probably buy Tim's gauges.
