Hi, first post.
I'm a fairly good mechanic and can usually figure out the problem.
BUT!!
I have a 1999 Chev Astro van.
I can't seem to get power to the ac
The fuses are all ok.
The connections all ok.
I try to jumper power to the fan/clutch, nope. The lead gets smokin hot?
I try to bypass the high pressure switch, nope. The lead gets smokin hot?
Some suggestions???
I've taken the dash apart and can't find any relays like I had in my Suburban??
The controls have power but nothing goes to the unit.
THANKS!!

If you did those tests as I think you did, might be a grounding in the AC clutch.jerryjerry05 wrote:I try to jumper power to the fan/clutch, nope. The lead gets smokin hot?

I should have added the compressor and clutch is new.
It had the problem before the compressor was changed.

I have a complete of service manuals for a 1998 Astro van. I believe they are the same for a 1999.
I will sell them for $30.00 plus $40.00 shipping. They are complete and heavy

Re: 1999 Chev Astro AC problems.
I don't want to buy anything.
That's why I'm asking questions on this forum.
Done some more work and have found it blows a fuse as soon as I put in a new one.
I have unhooked the clutch and the fan motor and it still blows the fuse.
It has a new blower motor resistor, the old worked just not the 2 low speeds.
Where can I get a wiring diagram for my 1999 Chevy Astro cargo van?
