The compressor shop said they could add a v-groove to this compressor. The customer will have to deal with any alignment issues.

Sweet! Single or double? What size belt? What diameter pulley?

Thanks,
Earl

See this is why I brought it up before. You tell me what you want, otherwise, I'm chasing rabbits on what will work for you. I'll look to see if there is anything close when you get me some information.

Gauge lines, Coil position, Grooves, belt size, volts, pulley size.

I'm trying to work with you. I stated all of this on a previous post. Gauge line(s) doesn't matter. Coil clock position doesn't matter. I've always mentioned I wanted double groove, but would settle on a single. Coils voltage only come in 12v and 24v. It's a car, so 12v. Unless you can work a miracle and come up with a 6v coil. Lol Pulley size 5" or less, preferably under 5. This is a total custom project. There is no off the shelf specs or part numbers for this. I will make what I can get, work. This compressor isn't going on its intended application. It's going on a custom fabricated mount that will be fabricated to align the belt(s) to the crank pulley. That's why gauge line(s) don't matter. I will make a wiring harness, so it doesn't matter what the coil connector clock is. it's wide open around where the compressor will go.

You mentioned being able to put a v-belt pulley on the selected V7 compressor and I asked single or double, diameter and belt size. Figured you'd know that if you can do it? I'm giving you first choice for parts out of respect because you own and/or operate this forum. I can't imagine there is more than a couple v-belt pulleys to fit a V5/7. I spent hours looking online and only found one. Link is below.

Maybe this will help if I list it like a spec sheet?

The selected GM V7 compressor with a double groove pulley, would settle with single groove.
Pulley diameter:
4.00 to 5.00 diameter, would prefer under 5.
Belt size:
7/16 ideal or 1/2. Most if not all are type A or 1/2".
Gauge line(s):
Doesn't matter at all, custom alignment will be done.
Coil voltage:
12v coil unless you can find a 6v.
Coil clock:
Doesn't matter at all.

I found this china double groove clutch kit, if this helps. Should fit a V5 and V7 and aftermarket V5/7 provided they use the OE sized bearing.
