I have no idea how Murray builds a compressor. Do not supply the brand. Their new units are supposed to be okay. As with 99% of items in this market. The Condenser is an import model. What matters is the sources one uses for these products. You're right, there is junk out there on eBay and other places that sell for half the price.
The products ACKits.com sells or anyone else's. Will not hold up if the repair is not done correctly.

any recommendations at this point would help, i will of course replace the condenser, and re flush the hoses and evaporator, all other necessary items, and repull a vacuum on the system.... any advice on oil type and quantity, refrigerant charge ect?? old r12 sticker says 3.24 lbs. 134a at 80% of the R12 amount comes out to about 2.5lbs or 40oz. i think that would be right ???

The items I listed should be replaced as well as a proper flush. As for oil, compressors come with a tag stating which oil should be used. These days you can't go by an old catalog as these compressors are being made by different sources with different tolerances.
Bottom line, leave debris behind. Try and shortcut it and you'll have another failure. Again, not being harsh. It's just a fact we see daily and people blame the product.

It turns out the 80% "rule" is not correct.
You should use 100% of the R12 amount.
There is a sharpshooter on here, Bohica, who has in the past explained why this is so, and where the myth of the 80% rule came from.
You could do a search of the site or perhaps a Google search of the site.

TBird, no need to do 80% when using a PF condenser.
Once again, I mention that 150psi thread. I've yet to see Mr. Australia comment on how to improve a system running at 300psi to achieve his goal o=of 150psi. If it were easy every system out there would perform fantastically.
