Once made 508/5H14 acceptable by limiting suction valve opening, but difficult for you.
Might back off anti rotation gear adjustment nut 15 degrees and restaking. See cutaway in "How to Air Condition Your Hot Rod" page 33.
Mufflers are easier and simple.
