Tim has a good point. You never use wrenches on service hoses, just snug them up with your thumb.

For kicks I am posting a closeup of my hose end and the YJ seals I use.
I use a dental pick (amazon) to dig the old seals out.
My understanding is that the seals will fit either 1/4" flare (which is what I use) or ACME (which I think is what you have). Do not worry about R12 or R134 for this application, I have no idea where that idea is coming from.
But if the brass parts are contorted from using tools, it may never seal properly.

There seems to be a wide gap in your knowledge base, suggest watching as many youtubes as possible to get a better idea of how AC works and how the tools, gauges, and hoses are used and handled. You will never see a pro using wrenches on hoses

Another thought, if you have damaged (scratched) the brass nipples on the main housing of the manifold, then the manifold is now scrap brass.

I went to NAPA and checked out a guage set and the quality was horrible
the nipples where the hoses connect were pitted and they wanted nearly 200.00
I checked the nipples on my santech and they check out to be decent

I might just order hoses and quick connects for my santech
i can find yellow jacket 1/2'' acme hoses
however i cant find 134a quick connects with a 1/2'' acme fitting
any thoughts on this

ok i found robinaire hoses with a 14mm male end and i found robinaire 134a quick connects but they dont list the size of the quick connnects so i dont know if they will work with the hoses

I will probably buy another set of santech gagues from TIM
they only thing is my original santech gagues would bleed down after 12 or more hours
If they hold pressure for an hour do i just call it good?

YES!!!!!!

This internet idea you need to pull a vacuum for 3-days and then let it sit for 24hrs is ridiculous. IMO.

My ac runs pretty good between 42-45 degrees
do i need the 4oz of freon that is missing

I would leave it alone!!!
Those are very good vent temps. You don;t really want much lower, else the evap will freeze
