i had my ac on because of the saharan dust out i didnt want to roll the windows down and let the dust in

Wonder what your radiator, condenser, and engine air filter look like.......

I've done exactly that on both my 1988 Mazda truck and on my 1998 Frontier truck. On the Mazda truck, helped me diagnose slipping AC clutch (turned out that the retaining bolt was simply loose) and a slipping AC clutch on the Frontier as well (had to remove a clutch shim to fix).

I chose a blue LED light for mine.
