Now that you have the system open, check the OT as well. If there is black gunk everywhere you could consider a total replacement.

I think I'm going to do that tonight..

If it's all nasty I already know my next steps. But if it's clean then I'm stumped.

Looks like I'm replacing it all.. O tube was packed full of grime and grit, oil that I dumped out of the accumulator had chunks of grit in it too.

The o-tube looks newer, just filthy. Dunno if they just didn't flush the system before the new compressor or what.. I just spent the past couple hours flushing the heck out of the lines, condenser, and evaporator..
