2005 Toyota Prius high pressure low side
Hi I just recently replaced the condenser, compressor, the suction line and discharge line on a Toyota Prius. Everything was new except the compressor. Currently the pressures are reading 60 on the low side and 120 on the high side. Air is blowing cold but the compressor is continuously on. I’m trying to figure out what I did wrong or if the compressor itself is bad. I should note that I forgot to add the 40 ml of oil to the condenser before installing it and instead added it with a syringe into the intake side of the condenser. Could this have caused the problem? Thanks.

Why were the listed parts replaced?
Was the system flushed?
What sort of equipment was used to evacuate the system?
How as the charge level determined? A scale & tank or cans and a guess?
What was the ambient temperature when those readings were taken?

Why were the listed parts replaced?
System lost pressure secondary to a slow leak for which I couldn’t determine the source with a sniffer or uv dye.
Was the system flushed?
No.
What sort of equipment was used to evacuate the system?
System had zero pressure when I started working on it. I pulled a vacuum on it after replacing the parts.

I measured can weight pre and post charge to get the correct 16oz in.
What was the ambient temperature when those readings were taken?
77 degrees Fahrenheit.

Re: 2005 Toyota Prius high pressure low side
The pressures look undercharged.
Given that the compressor is a reman, it could be a bad compressor if the charge level is correct.
I would add an ounce & see what it does. At 77f ambient I would expect high side pressures around 170 psi. Even if the TXV is stuck wide open it should cool better than that.
