Why bother???? Pure R134a was $5 a can last time I was at Walmart. Add anything but R134a and UV dye and NO SHOP will ever work on it. Refrigerant is NOT a consumable; if you've done a repair and need more than just a few cans, you still have a leak !mytown wrote:Came across this during an ebay search. Environmentally friendly? I'll use it if I think it'll work. I hear you about refrigerant not being a consumable but I don't know if my repair is going to work.Cusser wrote:Why bother???? I don't recommend introducing unknown alternative refrigerants into a system when pure R134a is readily available. As Cusser asks, why bother? Besides, you could wind up doing more harm than good. Higher operating pressures, flammability, unknown country of origin...heck, I'd just avoid using the stuff.

The mass conversion gives it away. Nice, Natural, PROPANE.
An iffy repair that may leak is the PERFECT place for a nice flammable refrigerant!

Points well taken, plus some pretty serious warnings on can which I had not read before posting. Extremely flammable, may explode if heated, wear respiratory protection, cold insulating gloves, eye protection and protective clothing. Man, I just want to put a little freon in my car!
