My auto ac o-ring kit has o-rings in the proper diameters in both 0.070 and 0.100 thickness.
I think 0.070 is correct for all of them but this seems thin. As anyone who has replaced a VIR in a Corvette knows, you don't want to have to do it again!
I appreciate any direction on this.
o-ring thicknesses for VIR tubes and hoses?

Re: o-ring thicknesses for VIR tubes and hoses?
What year? Some GM’s used capture type o rings. Also, which connection?
Re: o-ring thicknesses for VIR tubes and hoses?
Thank you for your reply.
It's a 1973 but my understanding that all the Corvette VIR's are identical.
I'm interested in all the connections and believe they all use approx 0.070 thickness o-rings - but my auto AC o-ring kit has similar diameter o-rings that are also about 0.100, hence the confusion.

Re: o-ring thicknesses for VIR tubes and hoses?
Just measured mine from my kit. Use the .070 size. Good luck on installing a VIR in a 1973 Vette. Make sure the top of the VIR is in the correct orientation. You may want to use a SMALL amount of Never Seize on the threads.
Re: o-ring thicknesses for VIR tubes and hoses?
Thank you for the reply and answer. I've just installed the .070 and they appear to fit the application properly.
I certainly agree about the VIR. Next time I may switch to a VIR eliminator (orifice tube and dryer) and a compressor that can handle cycling.
