Johnsens refrigerant at Sams club.

Post by 72gmc4x4 »

I was trying to find some information about the quality of that refrigerant and this forum kinda covered it here:

Has anyone had any issues with it? It's the cheapest I found anywhere.

I also asked the local AC suppliers and they said generally refrigerant made in China has extra oil that the US made doesn't. Anyone experience that?

Rural King has had 12 oz cans of 134a for $ 4 each for several years now. I have used it in several cars and

had no problems.

$4 per can = $5.34 per lb
$5 per can = $6.67 per lb

$70 per 30 lb = $2.33 per lb

Plus, I'm not really interested in cans. I can't see how to charge with cans without introducing air into system and also get an exact weight.

Early on I used a small scale and purge the lines like you'd do any other time, just have to remember to do it on every can. An old GM manual showed a fixture that held three or four cans at one time.

Where are you finding it for this price? Last year I was paying about 90, this year 114!
I bought a can of freon at supermart. It had dye, oil, and stop leak in it. It also came with a hose and a gauge. Now I'm an ac professional!!!
