2012 Ford Escape Compressor cut out help!

Post by stxjac »

I have a 2012 Ford Escape, when i start the vehicle the ac works just fine. The instant i so much as touch the gas peddle the compressor cuts out and my low side pressure spikes. If i take my foot off the gas and stop the vehicle and turn the ac all the way off and back on the compressor kicks back on and works normally until the gas is pressed again and i mean even in the slightest bit. It i have the ac working and i put the vehicle in gear and just let it coast on its own power the ac works fine but the slightest bit of acceleration via the gas peddle completely cuts the compressor off until it is turned off and back on. ANY help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. i assume its a sensor or something but idk much about vehicle hvac systems.

Check the compressor clutch gap. If it is greater than .025 inches, reset it by moving the shims.
