A6 compressor oil port

Quick question (tried to search but the terms were too common): does opening the oil fill port on a GM A6 compressor vent the refrigerant or can the oil level be checked on a pressurized system?

Refrigerant will be expelled and oil if opened under pressure. You will have to recover the refrigerant.
