For those following along.
A guy from Johnsen's called back (that's a good sign in itself) and convinced me the plastic bottling was OK.
He said 70% or more of the containers for ester are plastic and have been for 15-20 years.
They test oil coming back from a plastic container and it meets specs.
I don't really know I guess it is OK.
BVA is their competitor. His take is the higher cost of other brands, sold in metal, is justified by marketing that the metal cans are better (no moisture absorption).

Update:
I finally found a phone number for Denso America (888 963 3676).
After transversing the phone tree and getting past a lady running interference on the technical line - I talked with Steve.
He said Denso recommends draining out ( and even flushing ) with ND-OIL 8 (PAG 46) and filling with the recommended amount for the retrofit from R12 to R134a. In my case the fill amount is 5-6 fl. oz. I now have two containers of ester oil (BVA and Johnsen's that I'll donate somehow. You can find ND-OIL 8 by searching for 999-0101 on the web and I'll soon have two 8 fl. oz. containers on order.

Just normal PAG 46 oil. Nothing special about that. Make sure you get a DEC Pag46. Much better oil and more resistant to moisture.

Steve at Denso did not mention Double Ended Capped (DEC) PAG.
First choice was 999-0101 ND-OIL 8 which is Denso PAG 46.
Second choice was PAG 46 from Napa.

I'm assuming ND-OIL 8 (Denso PAG 46) is good enough.
Do you have a link explaining why DEC PAG is better then e.g. Denso PAG?

After some googling and reading - it seems double end capped PAG is a bit better in regards to dealing with moisture.
I didn't know that (re. DEC, interesting) - at this point my system is going to be clean so I think I should be OK with single end capped Denso PAG.

All he did was sell you on his brand. DEC PAG's have been known to be a much better oil for a long time.

And mix better with POe OILS.

Tim,
Thanks for all the good info.
I (my wife) haven't ordered yet.
Should I get DEC PAG 45?
Does ACKits have and can sell 2 x 8 fl. oz. of DEC PAG 45?

Again, I don;t know where you are getting these freight numbers. You just ordered and freight was $17.05.

We do not charge extra on freight. It's based from UPS. I do not want people reading this thread to think we jack up freight costs! :o
