The MARK IV store front has a MARK IV Monitor shown on the center shelf. I made the drawings on this evaporator including the zinc diecast bezel and coordinated with the tooling shop to resolve machining mistakes with compromises. The controls on the center lower chin worked well on LH drive.
My engineer friend from Ford and JEMCO, Preston Hazzard, moved down under with his 10 kids to establish a branch of MAPCO/MARK IV engine adapter company for welded AC compressor mounts. One son (ex MARK IV) stayed permanently.
My friend and an Aussie original, Norman Bilton, managed the Sanden business with Mark Padwick. He is retired near Queenstown.
Marcia Anderson, I'm looking for a sample of your Dad's pre MARK IV, evaporator from Oklahoma.

Re: Mark IV AC evaporator history questions
I love these units.
I have a dealer fitted one in my 71 w108 Mercedes. It used a York compressor originally but I've recently converted it to a Sanden and it's excellent.
I suspect many were designed to suit the dashboards of specific cars, not just generic units.

Re: Mark IV AC evaporator history questions
wetlook,
We installed AC on MB starting in 1974 at Port of NJ with BEHR/Stuttguart system and York 2 banger boat anchor (like OEM). During 14 years at BEHR we introduced first ever factory installed Sanden on Renault R5/Paris, then VWs, Porsche, Alpha Romeo/Turin Italy, Volvo etc.
Holden was a early Sanden application @ billabong land.

I’m finally trying to get this charged but think my O ring conversion is leaking on pressure test.

Re: Mark IV AC evaporator history questions
My Dad's name was Bob Anderson aka Robert V Anderson. He started in OKC and moved to Dallas in 1957 after selling his AC to the Mitchell Co. He was on contract with them for awhile and then started the Anderson Service Co. to provide warranty service on auto AC's. My email is MarciaHasenyager@mac.com. My maiden name is Marcia Anderson. My mom's name was Barbara and my stepmom's name was Doris. I look forward to anything I can find out about my dad and the Mk IV. Thanks!

Hope you were able to contact Milt Jones sons in Harlingen TX (Jones Auto Supply). Inventors who helped Mark IV That I worked for were Anderson, Oleson, and Pecorni (from tecumseh) and Hazzard. Another (outside JEMCO) inventor I worked for was Bob Bandeen (who wrote Mobil AC History) who had daughters, one named Marcia.

Hi Tropics - My dad was Bob Anderson, and I know who Bill Oleson was. My dad invented the original Mark IV in OKC, then after selling to JEM he and my mom, Barbara, moved to Dallas in 1957. My dad was under contract to them for awhile. Then he started The Anderson Service Co, to provide warranty services to auto AC 's. And my stepmom's name was Doris - she worked at JEM - that's how they met. My email is Marciahasenyager@mac.com. I look forward to any and all info I can get on my dad and the Mark IV. Thanks so much!
