Hi everyone - I'm having a bit of a problem, and I was told this forum would be a great resource for help.
Here's the situation: 2007 CR-V EX - a/c works fine until about 80 F, then only blows hot air despite setting (max a/c, regular a/c, fresh, recirculate). Happens almost every time.
What's been done so far:
- Refrigerant changed (multiple times) and dye placed to look for holes.
- Compressor and condenser replaced.
Has anyone had this happen (or even heard of this happening) to them before? The fact that it works fine until 80 F degrees (roughly) makes me think there must be a kill switch somewhere, but I could be wrong.
Thanks!
A/C stops blowing cold when it's hot outside (above 80 f) - 2007 CR-V EX

When the refrigerant was changed out was a vacuum pulled? What are the low and high pressure readings at the 80f ambient when it shuts down?

Are all the cooling fans spinning when the AC blows hot?
I assume that the compressor center is not turning when the AC blows hot, that only the outside pulley turns - is that correct? Maybe the AC clutch gets hot and the gap is a hair wide so it stops engaging when hot. I had that happen on my old truck, then I discovered that the compressor nut had become a little loose, tightening fixed that.
