2014 Chrysler 200 3.6 - Orifice Tube/VOV

Post by DSK777 »

Hello,

A question regarding whether the orifice tube is separately replaceable on a 2014 Chrysler 200 3.6 without replacement of the liquid line it inserts into. I'm getting info (online Chilton library) saying the liquid line must be replaced if one wants to replace the o tube.
Chilton's calls it a Variable Orifice Valve (VOV): is this merely another name for the same device we term the orifice tube, or are there purposely engineered differences between the two? At a glance it appears similar to any other OT.
I see kits available online with the orifice tube included as an independent item. It appears the tubes are also sold separately outside of kits. I wonder if permanently installed tubes are a fairly common phenomenon and I am ignorant of it, or whether I am just getting incorrect info...could someone please advise whether I can replace the tube without the line in this situation.
Thanks very much, and Happy Independence Day to all

OT is insdie the liquid line. The entire line needs replacing.

Thank you Tim.
I can't figure why OT tubes for these would be sold separately...

Just for trivia value, stay away from VOVs, they do not work.

There are many listings like that. IT has no idea what a line of the spreadsheet should be when uploaded to the server.
