AC on '14 Tacoma is not great

I've got a '14 base standard cab Tacoma that I use for a work truck. The air at the vent would get down to about 45 F when outside temps were under 90 F, and the compressor would cycle, so it never got below 45. The last couple weeks have been over 100 (Phoenix) when I was out driving around and the air at the vent wouldn't get below 50 with constant highway driving, and goes up to 55 or so when idling. Pressures are 50/260 @ 90 F ambient. This seems good, but I went ahead and added a couple ounces of gas just to see if there was any change, and there wasn't. I'm suspecting the expansion valve and blend doors and wanted to know if I'm on the right track.

Reclaim reef, evacuate, and recharge to spec. Have to start with a base setup. Adding and sub subtracking refrigerant just makes things hard to diagnose.

Agree 100% with Tim. And never add sealer ever. It will clog your system.

Nah. With 50 PSI on the low side, the evaporator is going to be ~54°F, not nearly cold enough to make the cabin comfortable in the Phoenix heat. Start with the correct refrigerant charge, as suggested earlier, and check the fans to ensure they're coming on. Then see how it performs.
