2005 Avalon AC problems

Post by Kourso »

I might have to recover & evacuate the AC system due to poor preformance (high AC vent air temps.)
If that is the case, after the system evacuation,do I have to add any comp. oil if the system was evacuated & was not opened?
I don’t know if any or much comp. oil is lost with the system being emptied of Freon & as a result of evacuation? I am not aware of any AC system Freon or oil leaks.
Thanks for your help guys!

If you have the system recovered by a professional MVAC shop, their machine not only will tell them the amount of refrigerant that is reclaimed but also the specific amount of oil that comes out so that the same amount of oil can be added back in later.

Unlike recovering a system, evacuation (prior to recharging) might remove a trace amount of oil but not a measurable amount that would have to be added back into the system.
