Thanks! That info is very helpful!

The 4 ear mount V5/V7 look very similar to the Sanden in the pictures. Can't find any dimensions on the V5/V7. I need to be able to tension the belt(s) by moving the compressor. If I use a direct mount, the fabed brackets would have to move vs the compressor.

I will get some better pics of the mount and that area of the engine.

Thanks,
Earl

Here is a link to a v5 that is 4 ear mount very similar to common Sanden mounting. I don't know if any V7 have this type of mounting. When searching for "V7 AC compressor", I don't get a lot of hits.

You need to know more than just a V7 or whatever model you plan to go with. You can make adjustments on your end but if I were to try and make one up I would be asking these questions from the customer.

Guage line
Pully dia
Ear's threaded or not
Rear Head
Spade connector
Voltage

Yeah that thing is a chinese frankenstein from a 24v chinese excavator. We are not even sure it is variable displacement.

I gave you the link to a real V7 in my last post.

Belt tension can be accomplished in a few ways. A solid cast iron mount may already have much of what is needed.

Correct, but most of it's not important and can be worked around. Trying to keep things as simple as possible.

Voltage would 12v.
Gauge line isn't important. That would be adjusted for by the mounting fabrication. It's usually not something you can customize that I ever saw.
Pulley diameter isn't real important as long as it's 5" or less. Most I saw are around 5" for v-belt. Though I did find a V5 with a 4.33 pulley diameter.
Ears can be threaded or not, looking for the common Sanden style 4 ear.
Connection can be whatever as long as there is a matching connector available to wire in and connect to it.
D+S connection can be whatever as long as it's industry standard stuff so I can make hose assemblies.

If this type of V7 doesn't exist, then I will have to go with a V5, which does exist in ear mount and v-belt. Or go with the Sanden that I originally picked until I learned of the mechanical variable V5/V7.

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks,
Earl

I would guess that most if not all compressors are manufactured in China these days?

Thanks, I didn't noticed the link prior. That one is serpentine belt pulley and a different 4 ear mount that I assume is a common to GM. I assume it also has a rear connection for mounting? Not much support if only in the front ears.

OE Sanden, not import. Find a better price for a true OE Sanden. Let me know.

Thanks, you will be my first stop. I haven't priced anything yet. Did you find out if a V7 can use a V5 v-belt clutch/pulley? I'm willing to buy a V7 and a clutch/pulley. What for mounting options exist for a V7? V7 is my first choice followed by V5 followed by a Sanden. I can't seem to find any manufacturer specs on any V7 or V5. Like mounting dimensions. Delphi seems to be a common manufacturer but no information on their website. Hard to figure out if a compressor will be usable without any specs.
