PAG 46 Potential problem??
Hi folks! 1st, thx for the admit! I have what I believe to be a potential problem. While normally I would never mix different oils, on a recent job I went to add oil to a system prior to a charge. I happened to have 2 different styles of PAG 46, by that I mean one was your standard oil and the other had dye. Upon combining them they almost immediately separated out! I would have assumed being the save viscosity they'd mix easily! Apparently they have different specific gravities. Should this be avoided? Tia!

That was my 1st thought! But no, they were both indeed pag 46 in the original containers.
Re: PAG 46 Potential problem??
Oil manufacturers have or use different oil add packs. Doubt you will have an issue as the oil will still circulate and should not lose its lubrication abilities.

Interesting. Post the brands please.
Not a huge issue, the refrigerant flow will keep things stirred up and moving.
