Flush

I have a 70 chevelle that had a working,although poorly,ac system

I have replaced everything and had the POA valve restored
New evaporator,compressor and parallel condensor

Going back with r12

The hoses look to be in like new condition

They have a been disconnected and we're open on the ends for about two weeks,I have placed tape over the ends since then to keep clean

Should I flush those before reinstallation or will I be ok

If I do need to flush what is the best way and can I flush through the muffler

I should note,my plan is to assemble everything and take it to a professional to pull a vacuum and charge

Flushing depends on the type of environment the hoses were exposed to.
Dusty, bondo dust, metal grindings from an air tool, et etc???

If none of the above apply then I personally do not think you need to flush.

You cannot flush thru a muffler

Should you decide to flush, we use naphtha here. Very quick drying, and leaves no residue. We do NOT prefer mineral spirits. You would still need your air compressor to dry the insides out, although you will be exposing the insides to the moisture and slight oil mist in the compressor air.
We have a commercial refrigerated air dryer/cleaner on our air line because we also paint cars, and that air must be squeaky clean.
But a good vacuum pull down should suffice after you are done flushing and drying.

I am replacing the dryer

The hoses were just in my garage so I believe I will be ok
