"because the A-6 is designed to run continuously"
What of the new aluminum S6 replacement, does that apply also? This is a custom application with none of the usual GM peripherals of the A6 era. Just a TXV, which was set up just as you would a custom 508 (compressor, FD, condenser, evap c/ TXV, nothing else)
Thanks
Dave

Re: JohnHere question please
The S-6 replacement for the original A-6 can accommodate both continuous running and cycling. Over and above the lighter weight aluminum case of the S-6, I'm told that the design changes had to do mainly with the clutch. GM found that the small-diameter engagement surfaces of the original A-6 clutch couldn't withstand constant cycling without prematurely wearing itself out. That's the reason why installing POA and VIR eliminator (cycling) kits on systems using the A-6 isn't such a good idea. On the other hand, the S-6 has a larger diameter, beefier clutch that isn't affected by cycling. So the aforementioned eliminator kits will work fine with the S-6.
