Grand marquis a/c problem

Post by larrys2006 »

I have a 2004 grand marquis 60k I have a freon leak the system was empty I hooked up the gauges and put 90 psi in the system yes it was air and no I did not have nitrogen but I thought the system had air in it all ready so what the hell 0 psi. I started the car and turned on the a/c for 3 seconds just to see the gauges move I could not read the numbers that fast and the high went up slightly but the low gauge peged high. it has a new orifice tube and accumulator before I knew their was a leak is it the compressor and can I rebuild it what rebuild kit do you recommend I do not trust buying rebuilt units you never know what you are getting.

Compressing air is not going to provide any reasonable diagnostic results.

Go with a new model much better option.
