Hello I'm a new member and I have an idea. I bought a ford van with dual factory. Both units are strong enuff to cool the van. I'm turning it into a camper and I was wondering instead of buying a roof unit for 3 grand can I mount a compressor and ac motor to run the unit while on shore power camping. And if so how big an ac motor would I need to drive a ford ac compressor.

3 grand? you can buy a 15,000 btu rooftop like on a travel trailer for around 5-$700.00 tops.Icuff4cash wrote: instead of buying a roof unit for 3 grand .
