Taurus High Pressure Switch Replacement

Vehicle: 2006 Ford Taurus

I have a question concerning the replacement of the binary switch located on the compressor discharge line. I think mine has failed.

The question is, "Does the system have to be evacuated in order to change this switch?" I know on some of the other low pressure switches it does not as there is a schrader valve behind the switch. On this one, I am not sure.
