I charged an R12 system today that hasn't been used in a couple years. The evaporator and dryer are new, the compressor and condenser are original. The POA valve is also original but bench tested good. the expansion valve is original and reconditioned by Original Air. The ambient temperature was 85 degrees. I got 32 lbs on the low side, but only 80 on the high side. I also got a twenty degree drop in a/c outlet air temperature.
Does this sound like a bad compressor?
Any help is appreciated.

If you had both service valves closed during testing, then yes the high side is too low for a good compressor.
Given that you have a POA valve, this is probably an A6 compressor?
Year / Make / Model would be a big help in helping you diagnose this system

Thanks for the reply. Yes it is an A6 compressor installed on a 1972 Corvette.

To update in case anyone wonders; I swapped out compressors and the system functions perfectly.

Three weeks ago I removed a thin AC clutch shim to restore full operation of my 1998 Frontier AC clutch; I don't think that I posted anything when I had that intermittent issue, as I knew any help would come from myself.
