Add High Pressure Service Port

Post by kconatymd »

I am a DIY'r with a good understanding of mechanics including automotive AC. I have a '95 Saab with a rebuilt AC Compressor that has only a low pressure service port. Where the High Pressure port goes was never tapped out with the port fitted.

I like to put gauges on my cars to check pressures from time to time, but there is nowhere to put the high pressure gauge.

Is it possible to install a high pressure port on the closed system? Someone suggested a bullet piercing valve. Anyone heard of doing this on the High side hose?

I personally would not do a piercing valve onto a good line.

Piercing valves leak. A crimped Tee in high side sounds much better.
