Re: 2008 Civic EX. Low low side, high high side. Cycling too much
The Genuine Honda expansion valve worked. I think I'm done with this rebuild once and for all. I reused the condenser and receiver drier again and charged 16 ounces. I was getting 200 psi at an idle on a 94F day, 92F measured at the bumper. For some reason my gauges weren't reading the low side prop...

Re: 2008 Civic EX. Low low side, high high side. Cycling too much
So I found someone with the same exact problem I'm having while shopping around. And apparently there's a different expansion valve for the coupe and the sedan. My crackpot theory is these aftermarket suppliers are calling the coupe and sedan valves the same and shipping the sedan part. Although my ...

Re: 2008 Civic EX. Low low side, high high side. Cycling too much
No. It was taped off while I did the work. I wasn't going to do another new condenser since it's integrated and basically new.

Re: 2008 Civic EX. Low low side, high high side. Cycling too much
Because everything was new except evap and the lines were flushed out it got the exact amount minus the amount the evaporator holds. When I did the new evaporator I added what the factory service manual said when replacing the evaporator. I think I posted here asking for that advice because the comp...

2008 Civic EX. Low low side, high high side. Cycling too much
2008 Civic EX Coupe Hey there. I rebuilt the AC unit last May all except the evaporator and TXV because the compressor case was leaking. I put a genuine Denso compressor in it and new condenser. All new o-rings everywhere. Worked incredible but 2 weeks later the evaporator developed a leak that I co...

Re: 2008 Civic new compressor oil procedure
Thank you all for the prompt responses. Had to put this on hold for a bit for the birth of my son but now I'm ready to get back into it. I discovered an additional leak at the condenser line so this is perfect timing to do all of the o-rings and go over the system while it's apart. I'll try to grab ...

2008 Civic new compressor oil procedure
Hi all, Just discovered my 2008 Civic is leaking specifically from the body of the compressor. I've washed it off a few times and it turns green with the UV dye around the compressor seams, but only when running. The service manual contradicts itself here on compressor replacement oil: Compressor2.P...

Re: 2006 Nissan 350z Pressures Equalized While Running
No dice at all on the old compressor. Installed the new compressor and receiver drier today. Apparently you can do the receiver without removing the radiator or condenser. It's just kind of a pain in the ass. Took about 3 hours in total, including the vacuum. No apparent leaks. Charged right up to 1...

Re: 2006 Nissan 350z Pressures Equalized While Running
I meant to post a reply to this but forgot. He took the compressor to the pro shop that did the evacuation and they said it was not moving anything at all and was completely worn out. We will be doing a compressor, and receiver drier this weekend. They oddly noted there weren't any metal shavings, s...

Re: 2006 Nissan 350z Pressures Equalized While Running
I was referring to the compressor internals shedding through the system, but was hoping a control valve stuck wide open could cause similar issues. I'm using a 30lb cylinder and a digital refrigerant scale and a set of manifold gauges. It would only take 0.4lbs because the low side was not pulling d...
