Re: Restriction?
Update: The assembly manual states 48oz R12. I charged it with 40oz 134a. I initially started at the lower end and crept up to 40oz. 10oz oil according to assembly manual. All system components are all new; no flushing was done, although flushing to remove any stray foreign objects would have been a...

System Evacuation Question
Theoretical Question: When evacuating a system, any water turns to vapor. Where does it go? I don't see how the vacuum pump "sucks" it out as there is no flow going on; it's a static condition. Given that, once a pump gets the system to its highest vacuum wouldn't turning off the pump have...

134A Pressure Chart Differences
Can someone explain why low side/high side gauge pressure charts vary so much? For example I see charts that show, at 90 degrees, a low side of approx. 30 psi and high side of 225. Another chart will show 50 PSI and 260 PSI? One chart even allows for differences in humidity. I know engine RPM, airfl...

Someone to Weld on Fittings
Can anyone recommend someone who welds on beadlock fittings? I have two short tubes that need the barbs removed and beadlocks installed.
Maybe it would be easier to get new tubes with beadlocks?

TXV Bulb Styles
I'm looking at possibly changing the TXV in my 1966 Chevy truck. The first pic is supposed to be for my application. Note the coiled bulb. The one in the second pic has the same flat style bulb as my original. I am concerned that the coiled bulb wouldn't transfer as efficiently as the flat one. My o...

Rebuilding TXV
I am rebuilding the entire system in my 66 Chevy truck and need to choose between buying an new TXV or attempting to rebuild it. The new ones aren't quite the same dimensionally so I am wondering about the feasibility of rebuilding it. I would imagine the valve components would be the easy part. The...

Trinary Switch Selection
I am installing an electric fan in my 92 Chevy truck to replace the mechanical fan. It is currently running 134A with a rebuilt system consisting of new o-rings, new compressor, accumulator, orifice tube, parallel flow condenser and a flushed system. I'm looking for a recommendation for a trinary sw...
