Re: 1969 Camaro - looking for advice
Quick up guys. This weekend I had a few hours to work on the camaro. We removed all components, hoses etc. Did a complete flush. The system did have some oil, but the oil appeared to be mixed with water, two different color oils, one brownish and the other was more an orange tint. But I did notice t...

Once we flush, test and have an empty system, how much oil needs to be put back in before we charge with R12?

Re: 1969 Camaro - looking for advice
We didn't run the AC with R134 for more than 30 or so minutes max. Hopefully we didn't do any damage with the limited run time with R134 mixed oils.
We will attempt the recommendation of flushing, bench testing, calibrating or replacing as needed and going back with R12

Sorry it took so long to get pictures. I tried uploading pictures to this post and the files are too large. So I added a few pictures to local website

Re: 1969 Camaro - looking for advice
I'm not sure what you mean. Do you want me to measure the temperature before with the system as is with the r134a freon? If so, do I need to bring it back to the AC guy that offered to help or is that something I can myself? If so ,I would need more details on what tools I need. Can I use a Infrared...

1969 Camaro - looking for advice
I have 1969 camaro, originally an AC car. BTW, a very clean well restored camaro. When I bought the camaro, the ac compressor was in a box in the trunk alone with a lot of other original parts. The compressor was seal and looks new on the outside. The guy I bought the car lived in Northern US were A...
