Re: Question re minimum safe refrigerant amount.
Thanks for your reply. The compressor was still engaging normally and the system was cooling well before the recharge. I'll try and make sure to have the system serviced on a more frequent basis. When it comes to AC systems, it seems more difficult to know when to bring it in. Some systems leak mor...

Question re minimum safe refrigerant amount.
The refrigerant in my CRV was recharged last week and the AC technician mentioned the AC system only contained 8 oz and required 18 oz. At 8 oz the car was only at 45% full charge. 1. Is there a point where, if the vehicle's system falls below a certain percentage of full charge, it could cause the ...

Re: AC service caps for Honda, do they provide seal the AC system?
I purchased a couple of new caps at NAPA today. I'm guessing they should be installed until they are snug, and then tighten just a bit more. But maybe someone can let me know how much force is needed when installing the caps in order to avoid refrigerant escaping.
Thank you
Thank you

Re: AC service caps for Honda, do they provide seal the AC system?
While you have the caps off, put a small dab of Nylog Blue (available from ACKits.com, this Forum's sponsor) on each internal seal and the sealing edge and threads of each service port before screwing the caps back on. The specs that I have for your car are as follows: 18 ounces net weight of R-134...

AC service caps for Honda, do they provide seal the AC system?
The CR-V is 20 years old and I'm considering replacing the service caps. Do the cap seals fail with age? I can't find High and Low pressure caps online that fit the Honda. The Honda dealer only carries the High pressure cap as the Low pressure cap has been discontinued. The caps look similar to thos...

Re: Anyone know a good AC tech or Auto AC shop in Southeast or Southern Arizona?
I live in Safford Arizona and if you can recommend a tech or shop that is knowledgeable in evacuating and recharging AC systems (and even AC system repair), I would appreciate their contact information. If you don't know anyone in my area, Tucson or Phoenix might also work. I want to avoid shops th...

Re: What if air conditioning was suddenly banned worldwide?
What if air conditioning was suddenly banned worldwide?" Immediate mass exodus from most of Arizona !!! Actually, mass exodus of people and jobs from many parts of the world, worldwide chaos. Agreed. It was not until refrigerated air became more common that there was a migration to Southeaster...
