Re: AC parts worth getting?

It seems companies like Vintage Air and Classic Air are building their kits around the Sanden 508. Still a good compressor to use after all these years? They did mention the use of the Sanden 709 for LS swapped vehicles.

Take the SVO for example, if not the SD508, then which compressor should be ...

AC parts worth getting?

We have a local auto parts store that is closing their doors and I noticed that some components like the compressor are available to purchase at very reasonable prices. My question here is does it make sense to get something like the compressor for a future retrofit? I agree there is more to the ...

Re: 2013 Honda CRV help needed

The Tools I have so far, are borrowed gauges and vacuum pump (used once) and the Mastercool valve core removal kit.

I understand the notion and preference of charging by weight vs. psi alone. I will have to take a reading at 1500 rpm. Does the little droplets of oil on the face of the valve core ...

2013 Honda CRV help needed

For the first time, I hooked up a set of gauges to my vehicle and would like to review the results with this group here.

Be patient, I am still learning, but always enjoy a good challenge and value the "eye of experience" from others.

The Car: 2013 Honda CRV with 118k miles.
Condition: AC not cold ...

Re: 1991 Mustang GT w/ R12 - need help

1. I actually did perform the bag test and did not get any response from the leak detector, nor was there any oil inside. though after driving the car yesterday, I have not performed this test again and I think I should.

2. Yes, they are old and I have been considering replacing everything.

3. I ...

Re: 1991 Mustang GT w/ R12 - need help

So the car is not a bad as originally thought. I drove it yesterday and at idle I engaged the AC (MAX AC) and slightly raised the rpm and it started to blow slightly cold air, still no where close to be even considered cold. So it has more Freon in it than I thought.

Pulled it in and started to ...
