Re: What To Look For in an AC Machine?
@Tim I did get that Robinair machine I showed you. But then this one popped up. This is totally automated, whereas the Robinair is more manual. Pluses and minuses to both, but I'm leaning toward keeping the Yellowjacket.

Re: What To Look For in an AC Machine?
Ok so I picked up the below machine today for $300. It works and is fully functional as far as I can tell. Are any of you guys familiar with this machine? (I only intend to use it for R134a) https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/312356098061016/?referralSurface=messenger_lightspeed_banner&re...

Re: What To Look For in an AC Machine?
That article is from 2017 I believe.
These changes take time. From Tesla: "All Superchargers are being converted to solar/battery power. Over time, almost all will disconnect from the electricity grid."

Re: What To Look For in an AC Machine?
{shrug} Many supercharger stations are already self-sufficient. I forget where it was, but I remember reading about a power outage in a city somewhere a few months ago and the only thing anywhere that was brightly lit and working was the Tesla supercharger station. Show me. Post the links not the l...

You can draw your own conclusions
I'm guessing this was not a Tesla super charging station (or was it?).

Re: What To Look For in an AC Machine?
So, every 250 kw supercharger will need a massive battery, and a 750 kw solar array ? So about 6,000 square meters of silicon? A couple of tons of lithium batteries? Comedy gold. {shrug} Many supercharger stations are already self-sufficient. I forget where it was, but I remember reading about a po...

Re: What To Look For in an AC Machine?
It is interesting to note that whenever a discussion of electric cars comes up, the proponents always dodge the issue of already maxed out grids. I have yet to have seen a plausible response to this key issue, if any response. I guess there will be more electricity available by magic The grid issue...

Re: What To Look For in an AC Machine?
Tesla EVs have conventional A/C systems in that all MVAC systems operate on the same basic principles. However, the systems that Tesla uses are more complex and more expensive than those used on ICE vehicles. For example, the compressors for the Tesla models—and indeed, all EVs—have integral electr...
