Re: High side too high
OK here is the update; I bought a flushing gun and flushed the Evaporator, Condenser and the Lines (off of the truck) until they were all clean with no debris coming out. I flushed the Compressor with PAG Oil as recommended then filled it with new PAG Oil & Dye. The neighbor put it all together ...

Re: High side too high
The Fan was removed earlier and replaced with an electric fan, he was having trouble getting it up to temp so that it would pass SMOG. The oil that I drained from the compressor looked great, a light amber and clear. The oil in the condenser came out milky and very funky looking. I just received a f...

Re: High side too high
Thanks,
He told me yesterday that the compressor was out. I then asked him to drain the compressor into a pan so that I can look at the oil.
Depending on what we see I can either start flushing it with PAG oil or decide to replace it.

Re: High side too high
Thank You,
Temp was about 78 Degrees F.
Thinking we will flush the compressor since it was replaced with one from Napa and this truck gets very little use. Replace the condenser & Dryer and clean the rest of the system. All with your advice JohnHere

Re: High side too high
Thanks for your help and advice! The Compressor didn't make any unusual noises and it appears that it was working with being able to withstand that extremely unusual high side pressure for the short period that I worked on it. But I am curious about the life expectancy now. I will go by and let him ...

Re: High side too high
Sorry I should have posted 1985 Toyota Pickup. Yes he didn't know any better so all he did was to install a new compressor & dryer & add the oil that the kit from Napa included. I have found the condenser and dryer but he is in his 80's and with limited income. If I can flush the other stuff...

High side too high
Posting for my neighbor. About 10 years ago he changed from R12 to R134A without flushing the system. I am thinking that the oil has coagulated because the high side is reading 350psi when I get the low side to about 37psi. Wondering if I can replace the condenser and dryer and flush the rest of the...
