Re: 2003 Tahoe Parts Confusion
Don't you love how ppl come to this site and flame those new-to-site without asking if they knew that Tim sold parts. Didn't know. I do now. You could have given me the benefit of the doubt and merely clued me in so I could correct my ways in nice friendly discourse, but nope. You went straight for ...

2003 Tahoe Parts Confusion
'03 Tahoe 5.3 with the C69 option (rear air?). Flex fuel, dual zone control and rear auxiliary air. Compressor is noisy so it, the drier, orifice tube and rear expansion valve are going to be replaced with original equipment manufacturer parts. I have questions about the expansion valve and orifice ...

Re: 2004 Accord and 2011 Civic, evap freezing on both
Thanks for the replies. Having in the past experienced a low charge causing evap freeze-up on household AC I should have realized what was up. Have been waiting for a late-in-the-day slot to open in the schedule of a friends auto repair shop. He has the equipment to discharge and measure the existin...

2004 Accord and 2011 Civic, evap freezing on both
Wife's cars, I drive 440K mile junk. The '04 is a garage queen with less than 90K+ on it, the '11 has just over 200K. Neither car has had so much as the AC service port caps off. Both exhibit the same symptom: Good cold air for a couple hours then the not so cold and the air gets a bit stuffy. Shut ...

Re: 2003 Tahoe Rear Climate Controls Don't Work
Thanks tbird! Not had a chance to see if the rear controls work once the T's are crossed ant I's dotted because everything I touch lately breaks. Zero turn sheared a drive motor wheel spindle key and ruined the shaft, back-up mower almost spit the drive shaft out, starter (more likely the flywheel) ...

Re: 2003 Tahoe Rear Climate Controls Don't Work
I'll look in the book. The previous owner played with the back seat controls when I was looking at the truck. He said he'd never tried since owning the truck but got in back and got the back seat radio controls to work but not the climate control. I wonder if the kiddie lockout has to do with the au...

2003 Tahoe Rear Climate Controls Don't Work
Don't see my original post so... 2003 Tahoe. Rear AC and heat work but only when using the front, overhead controls. The only response to the rear controls (on the back of the center console) is when "off" is selected - the word "OFF" appears, it doesn't turn anything off though....

Re: High low side pressure, normal high side
Thanks for the help! Like I mentioned in the first post, my experience is dated... very dated. I overlooked something as simple as raising the rpm, something I used to do back when a screwdriver wedged in the throttle linkage sufficed. The 12oz. of refrigerant added was a roll of the dice. With 70 p...

Re: High low side pressure, normal high side
264K. It has dual climate control in front with separate fan and temp controls for the rear. The rear temp control is via a roof mounted blend door NOT a dedicated evaporator and heater core. @2000 rpm, doors open fan on high; low 37-40, high 147-150, using a Thermopen duct temp 63.8°on both sides, ...

High low side pressure, normal high side
New to me 2003 Tahoe with dual climate controls. I fear the AC compressor may be dying. R12 was $1 a can last time I did any real AC work so, realizing how far out of the loop I am I'm hoping for informed advice. Long story: AC worked fine during the test drive except at idle, I figured it needed a ...
