Re: 06 Jag schrader valve replacement
Finally received the Volvo schrader core, and it is identical to the Jag core. After looking at pictures of the Santech core for the Volvo I noticed the metal looked different than OE, so for $9 I got this one. I guess i should replace both if one is leaking, no point going through this again. One t...

Re: 06 Jag schrader valve replacement
Thank you all for the replies--I'll order some of the Santech and see how they compare to the original. If my local NAPA has them in stock I'll bring the OE to compare. Will post back when I find out more. To me, it's just so weird that low-volume vehicle manufacturer Jaguar would use such a special...

Re: 06 Jag schrader valve replacement
After looking into this in more detail, the aftermarket Schrader valve that you used, although different looking from the original part, is supposed to be the correct replacement. It's certainly possible that the "new" one was defective from the factory, or maybe the factory just forgot t...

Re: 06 Jag schrader valve replacement
Is the port adapter (the part into which the Schrader valve screws) removable from the liquid line? If so, you might be able to locate another adapter with the same thread that accepts a more readily available Schrader valve. Sadly, no. They are part of a line set that runs between the evap and com...

Re: 06 Jag schrader valve replacement
I believe you are using the wrong replacement valve. Seems like you are using either 1 or 2 in your image. You need to be using the 3rd valve. JMO Ah... sorry, I see what you're saying now. The 3rd valve is much closer in form factor to the OE, but the threads are totally different. The largest 2 v...

Re: 06 Jag schrader valve replacement
Why not just use the correct valve from the kit you have? Does not seem wise to buy anything if you never used the correct core. JMO I think there is some confusion--I used the correct valve from the kit. However, there are major differences in how the OE and aftermarket parts are constructed. The ...

Re: 06 Jag schrader valve replacement
Did you use one of the first 2 valves or the 3rd? Can't recall any complaints with the Santech JRA IMPORT Valve Core. I also don't see how they are identical. When I know the suppliers are different from some of your listed suppliers. I used one of the first two (arrow pointing at one used). You an...

06 Jag schrader valve replacement
Hi, I have a 2006 Jaguar XJ8, 4.2L with a recurring high side schrader valve issue. 2 years ago (almost to the day) I found my system had leaked out over the winter and was bone dry. The cause was a leaking high side valve. So I replaced the condenser/dryer, replaced the valve, evac'd and recharged....
