Re: Grayish Powder Inside High Pressure Line
Status update. Looked into the location of the blend door actuator and it was relatively easy to access. Turned vehicle on, ran A/C on max, moved temperature knob while observing blend door actuator. The actuator was trying to move, but was not able to move the plastic linkage and gears. Removed the ...

Re: Grayish Powder Inside High Pressure Line
One full can was 12oz of r134a, this was easy because I let it charge until it was completely empty. The second can I used a food scale which I know is not perfectly accurate but I was able to do it successfully on a 2005 Honda Civic. I have no cooling at all, in fact, the air is very hot at 140F ...

Re: Grayish Powder Inside High Pressure Line
Pressure readings are as follows: Low side = 39psi, High side = 195psi, currently 96F outside temp. The OEM TXV that I installed was from a 2005 Honda Civic LX 1.7L Automatic. The vehicle I installed it on is a 2004 Honda Civic LX 1.7L Manual. I am not sure what the brand was but they did have the ...

Re: Grayish Powder Inside High Pressure Line
Status update. I am not a very good mechanic. I removed the aftermarket TXV that I had installed, poured some DEC PAG-46 into the evaporator, installed OEM TXV from another Honda Civic that I had lying around. Pulled vacuum for a couple of hours while I reinstalled the blower fan under the dash ...

Re: Grayish Powder Inside High Pressure Line
Checked again and found some on Amazon but I think I will check with local shops first before I place the order. Hopefully, they don't give me the deer in the headlights look when I ask for double end-capped pag 46.

Re: Grayish Powder Inside High Pressure Line
Thanks for the replies everyone. I pulled a vacuum and closed the system but I did not charge it because I ran out of time and had other things to do. The replacement TXV that I purchased is aftermarket. I was not aware that they are bad quality. I have the original TXV in a ziplock bag. Can the ...

Re: Grayish Powder Inside High Pressure Line
So I decided to roll the dice and just replace the expansion valve. Pulling a vacuum right now.

Re: Grayish Powder Inside High Pressure Line
Also how long can the system be open before the receiver drier goes bad? I have it open right now while I try and figure out what to do.
