Re: 2006 Saturn Vue NOT cooling at idle

My apologies for the misleading thread title. I don't see an option to change the title. I'll see if I can get a mod to adjust it.

That's opposite of what you say in your title.
Do you typically only read thread titles?

Re: 2006 Saturn Vue cooling at idle

Changed out the highside switch, no change. If I hold the throttle down at 1500rpm, temp immediately drops, I let off temp immediately goes back up. Any other ideas?

Re: 2006 Saturn Vue cooling at idle

The sensor is on the high side line someplace. AC Delco part number 1551343 Again, a Mitchell subscription can be a big help. You can screen shot the wiring diagrams & save them, that alone is worth the $20 charge https://eautorepair.net/Marketing/Default.asp I'll give the Mitchell subscription...

Re: 2006 Saturn Vue cooling at idle

I've tried 2 remanufactured compressors and one labeled NEW, all same results. I put a new scroll valve in the initial compressor hoping that was the issue, no dice.

Re: 2006 Saturn Vue cooling at idle

The high side is a 3 wire pressure transducer that feeds high side pressure information to the PCM. The PCM makes the fan speed decision. It is not a simple switch, and is not adjustable. It is a 5 volt input, with a 1 to 4.5v output. The sensor could be bad, or the wiring to the sensor. The high s...

Re: 2006 Saturn Vue cooling at idle

I'm almost positive it fan related, they both run but always on what I would consider low. If i pull the relay for the low speed fan they stop, but the high speed relay does nothing. How would I adjust the high pressure side to kick the fans into high? Appreciate the help.

Re: 2006 Saturn Vue cooling at idle

The fans should change speed depending on cooling load. This is normally decided by refrigerant pressure & ambient temperature. A few questions: Have you owned this car since it was new? I've owned it since 2009 When was the last time you changed the cabin air filter? I honestly didn't realize ...

Re: 2006 Saturn Vue cooling at idle

I meant to ask in my original post, the radiator fans are running but always at a the same speed (no high or low). Any chance there's a resistor that has went bad not kicking the fans to high? I"m grasping at straws...
