Re: 2013 Honda CRV help needed
Warning: don't ask me the time unless you want to know how to make a watch. Scroll compressors FYI: The moving/orbiting scroll is anodized aluminum and the fixed scroll is softer and not anodized so that it can wear in to conform to the hardened moving scroll. This process during early operation res...

Re: High pressure on high side after AC rebuild
T Bird say it truly. Lots of great advice around here. Stationary testing is inferior to road speed evaluation with ram air. You can route the gage hoses inside the cabin and get better data. Maybe the hot radiator outlet air is recirculating while stationary and gets worse as the radiator temp incr...

Re: High pressure on high side after AC rebuild
OK, the system was clean before SD7H15 installed. Extra 2.2 oz oil is OK. Oil can be removed by idling engine 5 min. so that oil collects in crankcase. Then remove and drain compressor. The H20 Vanagon AM AC had an optional (& desirable) auxiliary rear AC with a solenoid valve in the rear liquid...

Re: High pressure on high side after AC rebuild
Vanagon aftermarket AC used Diesel Kiki with more oil than Sanden. Need to remove that oil or decrease oil in Sanden crankcase. Too much oil decreases heat transfer inside heat exchangers and lowers refrigerant mass flow. Sanden compressor is sold with enough oil in the crankcase for your applicatio...

Re: AC component suggestions
Opal GT- It's like bolting a joint and then welding for redundant fail safe. Saw adhesives in roof area and maybe seam filler that looked like adhesive? I used to shrink fit outer clutch sleeve and then tack weld for fail safe. MG w/ Alum Skylark V8- exhaust solution can be to route exhaust forward ...

Re: AC component suggestions
The heavy 6 cu in de stroked A6 was a hoot in the OPAL GT. I saw body assembly in France at Chausson w/heavy use of adhesives between panels. Sanden SD7B10 with Samari/Tracker compact evap was acceptable but maybe too much for your application. Sanden compressors can be reduced in capacity by using ...

Death valley high temp record is 134 F.
As I was Leaving Death Valley via Baker Grade at 123 ambient the Suburban was cycling on the high pressure switch at a little over 400 psig.
glad I wasn't a cc rider.

Re: Newbie, installing "custom" system
Challanges are: 1) Low compressor capacity on diesel low rpm w/ 10pa20. Consider A6 12.6 cu in or better Diesel Kiki TM31. These com[ressors do not circulate much oil. Oil coats heat exchangers which insulates and reduces heat transfer. Oil also reduces compressor capacity. 2) No ram air with rear c...
